HeyGF.ai

Overview
Quick verdict: 7.7/10, provisional. HeyGF.ai sells a small coin pool and then prices what it buys generously. The entry plan costs $9.99 a month, includes unlimited messages and voice notes, and its 150 monthly coins cover 50 photos, or 10 videos, or 150 minutes of calls. That call allowance is several times what some rivals include at twice the price. The trade-offs are a subscription that renews until you cancel it, discount badges measured against prices nobody actually pays, and public documentation that is thin on the details a careful buyer wants.
A small pool that buys a lot
Coin systems usually feel like a toll booth. HeyGF's is unusual because the toll is low. On the cheapest plan, a minute of calling costs one coin and a photo three, so the 150 coins stretch a long way for anyone who mostly talks. Messages never touch the balance at all, and neither do voice notes, which are unlimited on every tier.
The figure that matters most is the 150 minutes. For comparison, the Premium plan covered in our OurDream.ai review includes 20 minutes of calls a month at $19.99. HeyGF does not say how long its videos last, so the video count is harder to compare, but on calls the gap is wide.
The parts the pricing page leaves out
The checkout says "cancel anytime". The terms add the part it does not: subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Every tier is shown with a higher struck-through price beside it, and the annual savings badges are calculated against those reference prices rather than against the monthly prices you would really pay. None of this is hidden, but you have to read two pages to see the full picture.
How this review was put together
I have not used a paid HeyGF account. The prices and plan contents come from screenshots of the live checkout taken in October 2026; the features, privacy terms and company details come from HeyGF's own homepage FAQ, terms of service and privacy policy. Nothing below describes a session I did not have. To see where it sits among the alternatives, start with our ranking of the best AI girlfriend sites, the list of every platform we cover and our guide to AI girlfriend sites.
Core Features
Unlimited messages and voice notes on every tier
Text chat and voice notes, her messages read aloud in her voice, never cost coins on any paid plan. That puts the everyday part of the product outside the metered system, which is the right way round: the features people use dozens of times a day are flat, and the expensive ones are counted. Basic conversations are also free without a card, though HeyGF does not publish the exact free limit.
Photos, videos and calls from one coin balance
Everything beyond chat draws from coins, spent however you like. HeyGF's own example for the Casual plan is 150 coins a month covering 50 photos, or 10 videos, or 150 minutes of calls, which works out to 3 coins a photo, 15 a video and 1 a minute of calling. A mix is allowed, so 20 photos and 90 minutes of calls fit in the same month. Our explainer on how AI girlfriend credit systems work covers why platforms split chat from generation this way.
Photos and videos are generated on request in the conversation. The FAQ's advice is to be specific about clothing, pose, background and mood, giving "a mirror selfie of you wearing your red dress" as the model request. Video length is not stated anywhere I could find, which is the main open question for anyone buying a plan to use videos. Platforms that build their whole experience around pictures are compared in our pictures ranking, and our Cuties AI review covers a rival that also produces images and short clips mid-scene.
A roster written by people, according to HeyGF
The FAQ says every ready-made character is crafted by real writers, with her own personality, moods, boundaries and backstory, rather than generated from a template. The homepage profiles back that up in style if not in proof: each one comes with an age, a home country and a few lines of life story. I cannot verify how they are made, but the claim is specific enough to note, and it is a different pitch from platforms that lead with the character creator.
Building her from four menus
The builder is organized around four parts: her looks, from face and hair to body and style; her personality, with options from sweet and shy to playful; her voice, including accent; and her story, a name and a backstory. HeyGF says a custom companion is ready in seconds and can send photos and videos just like the built-in characters. Creating your own is included in every paid tier.
Memory, as advertised
The pricing panel promises that "she remembers everything about you", and the FAQ describes a companion that learns your preferences, tone and humor over time. Those are marketing lines rather than a technical description, and nothing in the public pages explains how much is retained or for how long. If recall is your priority, our explainer on how AI girlfriend memory works sets out what to test for.
User Experience
Free chat before any card
HeyGF lets you start talking without payment details, and the FAQ describes basic conversations as completely free. What the free tier withholds is everything visual and the voice calls, which need a paid plan. Unlike platforms that show no free tier at all, such as the one in our AI Allure review, that leaves room to judge the writing before paying.
Browser only, on any screen
There is nothing to install: the service runs in a browser on desktop and mobile. The navigation is built around a feed, a discovery page, the creator, the chat and a studio section. The trade-offs of a web-only companion are the ones our comparison of AI girlfriend apps and websites describes.
What the annual plan adds
One feature is reserved for annual subscribers: full gallery access. The checkout greys it out on the monthly view and lights it up on the annual one. It is a small incentive, and it is the only feature difference between monthly and annual beyond the price.
Gaps in the public information
Three things a buyer would reasonably want to know are not on the pages I read: how long a generated video runs, how large the free tier is, and the exact line that appears on a card statement. HeyGF says charges do not mention "AI girlfriend" or anything related, without giving the descriptor itself. None of these is a red flag on its own, but together they make HeyGF harder to evaluate in advance than its better-documented rivals, and they belong on the checklist in our guide to choosing an AI girlfriend app.
Pricing
Three tiers, two billing cycles
Every tier includes the same features: unlimited messages and voice notes, photos and videos on request, every character unlocked and custom companions. They differ only in coins. These are the US dollar prices from the checkout in October 2026.
| Tier | Monthly billing | Annual billing, per month | Coins |
|---|---|---|---|
| Casual | $9.99 | $8.33 ($99.99 a year) | 150 a month |
| Closer | $19.99 | $15.83 | 350 a month |
| Exclusive | $39.99 | $29.17 | 800 a month |
On the annual plan the coins are listed per year, 1,800, 4,200 and 9,600, which matches twelve months of each tier. Annual billing also adds full gallery access.
Struck-through prices nobody pays
Each tier is shown beside a higher crossed-out figure: $15.00 for Casual, $35.00 for Closer and $80.00 for Exclusive. None of those is a price on offer anywhere in the checkout, yet the annual savings badges, 44, 55 and 64 percent, are calculated against them. Measured against the monthly prices you would actually pay, annual billing saves about 17 percent on Casual, 21 percent on Closer and 27 percent on Exclusive. Still worth having, just less than the badges suggest.
What 150 coins cover
At 1 coin a minute, the Casual tier's 150 coins are up to 150 minutes of calls; at 15 coins, up to 10 videos; at 3 coins, up to 50 photos. Closer's 350 coins more than double that, and Exclusive's 800 are roughly five times Casual. For anyone who calls more than they generate, Casual is the sensible starting point. Compare it with the 100-token monthly pool described in our AIGirlfriends.ai review.
Renewal, refunds and coin packs
The checkout says "cancel anytime", and the terms confirm what that means: subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and after cancelling, access runs to the end of the current billing period. Refunds are at HeyGF's discretion, considered case by case for billing errors or service malfunctions. Coin packs and custom media are sold as one-time purchases, and those are final. Their prices were not shown on the checkout screens I saw.
Card or Bitcoin
The checkout offers card payment and Bitcoin. There is also a promo code field, so discounts beyond the listed prices exist for anyone who has a code.
Privacy & Security
A Delaware company at a Dover address
The terms name the operator plainly: HeyGF.ai is run by Y2A LLC, 8 The Green #21065, Dover, Delaware 19901, United States, and the agreement is governed by Delaware law. That is more than some platforms in this category publish, though it is a company address rather than an office you could visit.
Encryption and deletion, as stated
The privacy policy says data is encrypted in transit with HTTPS and at rest by HeyGF's cloud providers, and that personal information is not sold. You can delete your account from the settings at any time and ask for your personal information to be permanently removed.
What the policy does not say
The policy's statement about AI training covers data received through Google sign-in specifically: HeyGF says it does not use Google user data to train AI or machine learning models. It does not make the same statement about chat content in general, and I found no retention period for conversations. If either matters to you, ask before you build a long history there.
The statement line
According to the FAQ, charges do not mention "AI girlfriend" or any related terms. The descriptor itself is not published on the pages I read, so check it against your first statement. The service is for users 18 and over; the terms describe no identity check, so age rests on your own confirmation.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- The $9.99 Casual tier covers up to 150 minutes of calls a month, against 20 on OurDream's $19.99 Premium
- Messages and voice notes are unlimited on every tier and never use coins
- Coins can be split freely between photos, videos and calls
- Basic conversations are free with no credit card required
- The operator, Y2A LLC in Delaware, is named in the terms
Cons
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, despite the cancel anytime label
- Annual savings badges are measured against struck-through prices that are never actually charged
- Video length is not stated, so the 10-video figure is hard to value
- Refunds are discretionary, and coin packs and custom media are final sales
- No published retention period for chats and no stated policy on using chats for AI training
Our Verdict
What the cheapest plan buys across the lineup
| Platform | Entry plan | Calls and media included |
|---|---|---|
| HeyGF.ai | $9.99 a month, Casual | 150 coins: up to 150 call minutes, or 10 videos, or 50 photos; messages and voice notes unlimited |
| OurDream.ai | $19.99 a month, Premium | 1,000 coins, 20 call minutes and 10 videos; messages and voice messages unlimited |
| AIGirlfriends.ai | $12.99 a month, introductory | 100 tokens a month; calls listed with no minute count; renews at $20.00 |
| AI Allure | $19.90 a month, Starter | 2 images per batch and 1 video job at a time; no free tier |
For anyone who talks more than they generate, HeyGF offers the most for the money in this table, with one qualification: AIGirlfriends.ai lists calls with no minute count at all, though at a price that rises to $20.00 at renewal. The caveats on HeyGF are the ones already covered: an automatic renewal, discount badges that overstate the saving, and a video allowance whose clip length is unknown.
Worth it for
Someone who wants unlimited chat and voice notes plus regular calls on a small budget. The Casual tier covers a short call almost every day for a month. If voice is the main event for you, our voice chat ranking is the right comparison, and HeyGF belongs in it.
Look elsewhere if
You want a companion with documented, proven long-term memory: Nomi AI, Lovescape and our memory ranking are better starting points, and Secrets.ai is the one to see if you mainly want a character who stays the same person. Look elsewhere too if you prefer to pay without a recurring charge, or if you want the privacy terms spelled out in detail before you sign up.
Score: 7.7, provisional
7.7 out of 10, provisional. It earns that on a call allowance more than seven times OurDream's Premium at half the price, unlimited messages and voice notes on every tier, free chat before a card, and an operator that is named in its terms. It loses ground on automatic renewal, on savings badges measured against prices nobody pays, and on public documentation that leaves video length, free limits and chat retention unstated. A hands-on test of video length and voice quality is what would settle the score.
