Xeve.ai

Overview
Quick verdict: 7.8/10, provisional. Xeve.ai is the cheapest way into video-led AI companionship in our lineup: $12.99 a month includes the video chat, and the yearly plan brings that down to $7.09 a month. The catch sits in one word on its homepage. The "live" video chat is not streamed live. It is a library of clips recorded in advance, and the AI decides which one plays next while you talk. Xeve.ai says so itself, in its own documentation, which is more candor than this category usually offers.
Live means the selection, not the camera
The homepage sells xeve.ai as AI girlfriend video chat, with lip sync, gestures and reactions to what you do. As a description of what appears on screen, that is accurate. What the marketing leaves out, and the character documentation states in a single plain sentence, is how it is made: nothing is streamed in real time. Each character has a set of recorded clips, and the conversation decides the order in which they play.
That matters less than it sounds, and more than the homepage implies. Less, because a well-cut clip library driven by a good selection engine can feel responsive, and the platform clearly invests in that layer. More, because "live" sets up the expectation of a video call, and what you actually get is closer to an interactive film that branches on your messages.
The sources behind this review
I have not held a paid xeve.ai account, so I am not going to describe sessions I did not have. What I did was read the platform's documentation hub from start to finish: fourteen pages on the video chat, the character types, the builder, the generator, pricing, refunds, data retention and identity checks, several of them updated as recently as September 2026. It is an unusually complete set of first-party documents, and every claim below comes from it, with the source page named where it matters.
That is also why the score is provisional. The documents tell me how xeve.ai is built and what it charges. They cannot tell me how good the clips look, how well the selection engine reads a conversation, or how fast the credit allowance runs out in daily use. If you are comparing several platforms at once, our ranking of the best AI girlfriend sites and the full list of platforms we cover are the places to start, and our guide to AI girlfriend sites explains the categories they fall into.
Core Features
Recorded clips, chosen as you talk
The video chat is the product's identity, so it deserves a precise description. According to xeve.ai's page on how the video chat works, a session is an interaction loop: you write a message or pick an action, and the character answers in video, with speech, lip sync, gestures and changes of expression. According to the character documentation, those answers are clips made in advance, and the AI picks which one plays next. Nothing is generated or streamed on the spot.
The practical consequence is that the range of a session equals the range of a character's clip library and action set. Premium access, the same page says, unlocks wider action sets and longer use, which suggests the free version runs on a narrower selection. How large the libraries are for each character is the main thing the documentation does not quantify. The voice is AI-generated throughout, so if spoken replies are what you want most, our voice chat ranking covers platforms built around calls instead.
It is a different idea from the short videos you can request mid-conversation on Cuties AI, which are generated on demand, and closer in spirit to the scripted mini-episodes of Candy Shorts covered in our Candy.ai review, except that here the pre-made footage reacts to what you type.
Generated characters and filmed ones
Xeve.ai divides its standard characters into two kinds, and says so openly. Most are AI-generated, both the look and the clips. A few realistic characters are filmed with real women who agreed in writing to this use, and the platform lists which ones on a dedicated page. For both kinds, the conversation is written by AI and the voice is synthetic: the woman behind a filmed character never reads or answers your messages.
A sensible rule comes with it. Only AI-generated characters can be used in the image and video generator, so nothing the generator produces can show a real person.
A builder made of menus, not prompts
Custom characters are assembled through structured steps rather than one long description. The fields include origin, personality, age, look, relationship style, voice, work, hobbies, a signature action and a name. The builder then loads the actions compatible with your earlier picks and shows a summary of identity and voice before it creates the character. You need to be logged in, and beyond a certain number of custom characters an active subscription is required before another one is created.
The approach trades flexibility for coherence. You cannot describe something the menus do not offer, but you also cannot end up with a character whose face and voice contradict each other.
A generator steered three ways
Images and videos are made in their own flow, apart from chat. You can start from text, from structured choices or from a reference image, either an existing character picture or another source the page exposes. The structured controls go further than most: hairstyle, eye color, clothing, location, camera movement, action and overall style. Video adds duration and motion, so it costs more, and longer clips cost more again. The service accepts no uploads, which limits what the reference flow can use but also shuts an obvious door to misuse.
A signed label inside every file
Generated images and videos are marked as AI-generated with C2PA Content Credentials when they are stored: a signed, machine-readable record embedded in the file that states how it was made, which any C2PA-aware verifier can read. It changes nothing about daily use, and a great deal about accountability. We had not seen it documented by any platform we review before this one.
User Experience
Three filters at the door
The character library is sorted by type first, Human, Avatar and Anime, with Trending and New alongside. Every character page carries a fixed identity package, with a name, description, relationship framing, background, hobbies and tags, so you know who you are opening before you start. From that page you can move into chat, into the video view or into the generator. Everything runs in the browser, which has the trade-offs our comparison of AI girlfriend apps and websites describes.
The split between filmed and generated characters is visible if you look for it, through the page that lists the filmed ones. It is worth a look: a filmed character and a generated one will not feel the same on screen, even though the conversation engine behind them is identical.
Where the free version ends
The documentation is careful not to promise a fixed free allowance. Some chat and some video interaction can be tried without paying, while premium actions, longer sessions and generated media need a membership, credits or both. The generator sometimes offers a first image for free. Past that point, the checkout is the only place that states the current offer, which is reasonable for a platform that runs frequent promotions and inconvenient for anyone who wants to know the limits in advance.
Questions only a paid account answers
Three things decide whether xeve.ai is worth the money, and the documentation settles none of them. How many clips each character has, because that is the ceiling on how varied a session can feel. How well the AI chooses the next clip from what you wrote, because a wrong pick breaks the illusion faster than a slow one. And how far the monthly credit allowance in a membership stretches, because the documentation confirms it exists without giving its size.
The free entry points are enough to judge the first two. The third is the one to check on the membership page before subscribing, and it belongs on the list of questions in our guide to choosing an AI girlfriend app.
Pricing
Access and generation, sold separately
Xeve.ai runs two payment models side by side, and its own pricing page explains them more clearly than most platforms manage. A membership buys access to the companion features, including text chat and video chat, with nothing charged per conversation. Credits buy generation, meaning images and videos made in the generator. Every membership includes a monthly allowance of credits, and credits can also be bought on their own without subscribing.
For most users this is the cleanest structure in our lineup. The thing you do most often, talking to a character and watching her respond, has a flat price. The thing that costs the platform real computing power, creating new media, is metered. Our explainer on how AI girlfriend credit systems work covers why that split matters.
One membership, three billing cycles
| Billing cycle | Price per month | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $12.99 | Companion access with chat and video chat, plus a monthly credit allowance |
| Quarterly | $8.99 | The same access, billed every three months |
| Yearly | $7.09 | The same access, billed once a year |
These are the US dollar prices in xeve.ai's pricing documentation, last updated in September 2026. Customers in the EU are charged in euros and in the UK in pounds, and the checkout shows the exact amount for your country, including any promotion running at the time.
What 500 credits buys
Credit packages start at $4.99, and the documented reference package is 500 credits for $22.99. An image costs 5 credits and a generated video 20, so that package covers roughly 100 images or 25 videos, fewer if your clips run longer, since duration raises the cost. Credits expire one year after purchase and cannot be refunded.
Against MyBabes AI, which meters generated video by the second, a starting cost of 20 credits per clip is easier to plan around, provided you keep clips short. And unlike the introductory prices on AIGirlfriends.ai, which step up at renewal, the xeve.ai figures above are presented as the standard rates.
Card payments renew, everything else is one-off
This is the friendliest detail in the whole setup. A membership paid by card renews automatically until you cancel it. Every other method, whether cryptocurrency, a regional method such as iDEAL, SEPA, PayPal or Venmo, or a prepaid voucher such as Neosurf, is a single payment for a fixed period of 30, 90 or 365 days that never renews. If you want one month without having to remember to cancel, pay any way except by card.
Card charges show up as CUR*Jay Web Developm. / CCBill.com *xeve.ai, the descriptor published on the contact page. It names the domain but not the type of service.
Refunds, and the one exception
As a rule there are none. Memberships, one-time access periods and credits are all non-refundable, and cancelling a membership neither refunds nor prorates the rest of the period: access simply runs until the end of what you paid for. Paid requests for a custom character or a custom action are one-time purchases and also final.
The exception comes from EU law. Customers in the EU can withdraw within 14 days without giving a reason, using a "Withdraw contract" button that appears in the site footer during that window, and are reimbursed through the same payment method within 14 days. Anyone else can ask support for an exceptional refund, which is assessed case by case.
Privacy & Security
Chats stored in Belgium
Xeve.ai's data retention page is specific in a way that privacy pages in this category rarely are. Conversations are stored on Google Cloud in the EU, in the europe-west1 region in Belgium. They are processed only to run the service, are not sold, are not used for advertising, and are not used by xeve.ai to train AI models. The AI providers that generate the replies receive no email address and no account identifier.
Every conversation passes an automated moderation check, and chats and prompts are never published. Anonymous sessions are tied to a random identifier stored in your browser rather than to an account.
A twelve-month clock on every chat
Chat sessions are deleted twelve months after their last message, and a conversation you keep using is never affected. Server request logs are kept for 30 days, and account data for as long as the account exists. Generated images and videos are stored with your account and delivered through bunny.net in the EU.
The account itself is deleted from the membership area, once any active subscription has been cancelled. Two kinds of record survive deletion because the law requires it: financial transaction records, held for the statutory tax periods, which in Germany can reach ten years, and safety records needed to defend legal claims.
The ID document stays with Didit
Xeve.ai is for users 18 and over and states that every character and every piece of generated media depicts an adult. An identity check is requested in two situations only: when a payment provider requires it, or when the law does. It runs through a provider called Didit, takes about a minute and happens once. You supply an identity document and a selfie, Didit processes both on its own systems, and xeve.ai receives only the outcome and a reference number.
That last point is the one to note. A platform in this category holding copies of its users' identity documents would be a serious liability, and xeve.ai has designed that risk out of its own systems.
What the documentation leaves open
The binding wording lives in the Privacy Policy and the Terms, and the documents point there themselves. Encryption is not described in any of the pages I read. If it is a deciding factor for you, it is the one question worth putting to support before you pay.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Video chat is included in the membership instead of being charged per clip or per second
- The lowest entry price among the video-led platforms we review, down to $7.09 a month on the yearly plan
- Unusually complete official documentation, including a plain admission that the video chat uses recorded clips
- Chats stored in Belgium, deleted 12 months after the last message and kept out of model training
- Generated media carries C2PA Content Credentials, and only AI-generated characters can be used in the generator
Cons
- The live video chat plays pre-recorded clips; nothing is streamed or generated in real time
- No refunds outside the EU 14-day window, and credits expire one year after purchase
- The size of the monthly credit allowance included with a membership is not published
- Adults-only by design, with no documented way to hide that side of the platform
- Clip library size per character is not stated, which caps how varied a session can feel
Our Verdict
Price against the video-led platforms
| Platform | Entry price | How video is paid for |
|---|---|---|
| Xeve.ai | $12.99 a month | Video chat included; generated clips from 20 credits each |
| MyBabes AI | $14.99 a month | Generated video charged per second from a token allowance |
| AI Allure | $19.90 a month | Plans sold by parallel video jobs and queue speed |
On price alone xeve.ai is the strongest of the three, and the only one where the video you open a character for is covered by the flat fee rather than metered. The comparison is not quite like for like, since its video chat plays recorded clips while the other two generate new footage, but for someone who mainly wants to watch and talk rather than produce, that difference works in xeve.ai's favor on cost.
Who it suits
Someone who wants a video-first companion at the lowest monthly price we have found, and who values a platform that documents its own workings. The non-renewing payment methods also suit anyone who prefers to buy a month at a time without a standing subscription. If generating media is your main goal, compare it with the platforms in our pictures ranking first.
Who should look elsewhere
Anyone who reads "live video chat" as a real-time video call will be disappointed, and should know before paying that the clips are pre-recorded. The same goes for anyone who wants to use a platform with its adult side switched off: the documentation presents xeve.ai as adults-only and describes no mode that hides that side. And if long-term memory is what you are after, the documentation says nothing at all about how its characters remember. Start with Nomi AI, our memory ranking and our explainer on how AI girlfriend memory works.
Score, and what could move it
7.8 out of 10, provisional. It earns that on price, on an unusually candid set of documents, and on privacy terms that are specific where most rivals stay vague. It loses ground on the gap between the homepage's "live" and the reality of recorded clips, and on refunds that barely exist outside the EU. A hands-on test of clip variety and of the credit allowance could move the score in either direction, and it will be revisited after one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Not in the sense of a video call. The character responds in video with speech, lip sync and gestures, but the clips are recorded in advance and the AI chooses which one plays next during the chat. Xeve.ai states this in its own character documentation.
A few realistic characters are filmed with real women who agreed in writing to this use, and the platform lists them on a dedicated page. The conversation and the voice are AI for every character, and the person behind a filmed character never reads or answers messages.
No. Only AI-generated characters can be used in the generator, so generated images and videos never show a real person.
The membership is $12.99 a month, $8.99 a month on the quarterly plan or $7.09 a month on the yearly plan, in US dollars. Credits for generating images and videos are sold separately from $4.99, with 500 credits costing $22.99. The checkout shows the exact price for your country.
Only if you pay by card. Payments by cryptocurrency, regional methods or prepaid vouchers buy a fixed period of 30, 90 or 365 days and never renew.
Log in, open My Membership in the left menu, go to Membership Details and choose Cancel Membership, then confirm. Access continues until the end of the paid period, and the unused part is not refunded.
According to its data retention documentation, no. Chats are stored on Google Cloud in Belgium, used only to run the service, never sold or used for advertising, and deleted twelve months after the last message.
Only in specific cases, when a payment provider or the law requires an age check. It is handled by a provider called Didit, which processes the document and selfie on its own systems, and xeve.ai only receives the result.
